In February, our partner National Voices hosted a National Learning Event for the Core20PLUS Connector sites with SCW, NHS England Health Inequalities Improvement Team and The Health Creation Alliance. The event celebrated the Connectors, the fantastic work they are doing and the impact they are making. We're pleased to continue coordinating the Core20PLUS Connectors programme across England and to share with you the key points from the event. 

As part of our mission to be trusted partners that deliver innovative services, we participate in the internationally recognised Service Desk Institute (SDI) annual certificate programme, an accreditation authority for thousands of companies in over 150 countries. In January 2024, we were delighted to reach our highest accreditation since we began our journey with SDI in 2020, achieving three stars, and acknowledged as ‘customer-led’ – a huge accolade and a great achievement for our team.

In October, NHSE working with NHS SCW published its framework on NHS action on inclusion health. The first NHSE framework of its kind, the document aims to support NHS leaders to enable greater access to and improved experiences of healthcare for those who are socially excluded, and who typically experience multiple interacting risk factors for poor health, such as stigma, discrimination, poverty, violence, and complex trauma.

This year, World Mental Health Day highlights that mental health is a universal human right. In a world that is increasingly aware of the detrimental impacts of poor mental wellbeing, it is important that we acknowledge the significance of community cohesion and how it is a fundamental part of mental health support.

NHS South, Central & West Commissioning Support Unit (NHS SCW) will take responsibility for the Greater Manchester Child Health Information Service (CHIS) from December 2023 after winning the tender for a six-year contract. NHS England (Greater Manchester) has commissioned NHS SCW to create a single CHIS service that combines three existing CHIS providers across ten boroughs (Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Salford, Bolton, Manchester, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, and Wigan), so that all child health data is managed safely and securely in one place. 

We are delighted to announce that we’ve been named a finalist in the British Recruitment Awards 2023 in the categories of Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year, and Recruitment Campaign of the Year.

We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the HSJ Awards 2023. Peninsula Cancer Alliance and Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon and Gloucestershire Cancer Alliance together with SCW have been shortlisted in the Data-Driven Transformation award category. This award recognises NHS initiatives that harness the power of data to bring positive change in the delivery and planning of care, and where data sharing has made a real difference.
