Here’s a flavour of what was shared during the session:

The biggest benefit for families and carers was reassurance and that they knew there was someone at the end of the phone or if a Virtual ward was being supported by technology, then someone was having a constant read of things. This provided reassurance that there was wrap around care for the patient being at home and that they weren't just discharged and then just left - Ruth Gazzane, Associate Director, Transformation, NHS SCW

Participant’s feedback echoed this finding:

It was reassuring that that my gran wasn’t forgotten once she left hospital. I was able to ask questions about her ongoing care. The staff were lovely which made me feel my grandmother was being well cared for and I also felt supported. I got medical advice from them rather than going through the GP which felt more streamlined and I think I got better answers - Family Carer, Frailty Patient, HHFT
