In July, I had the honour of speaking to my analytical colleagues and leaders from across the UK at the Health and Analytics Conference (HACA) 2024. Standing at an international conference centre, I couldn't help but feel the weight of imposter syndrome. While my colleagues presented their groundbreaking work on analytical insights and techniques that are transforming health, care, and social systems, I was about to talk about myself—a daunting prospect.
Ensuring efficiency, fairness, and transparency in job evaluations within the NHS is not just important—it's essential. One of the most effective strategies to achieve these goals, in my opinion, is through outsourcing job evaluations to an independent third party. Here’s why I believe this approach can make a real difference to organisational effectiveness.
We are delighted to share the news that NHS SCW has been awarded the Gold Award 2024 of Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) for our commitment to supporting people in the armed forces and their families; NHS SCW previously held the Silver award and just this week this has upgraded to Gold.

The NHS Job Evaluation Scheme stands out to me as a pivotal tool in supporting the delivery of this mission. The scheme provides a systematic approach to evaluating roles, responsibilities, and compensation within the NHS, which not only supports the NHS workforce but also underpins the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care for all.
We are pleased to announce that we have achieved the prestigious Silver TIDE award from the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (ENEI). The rigorous and independent Talent Inclusion and Diversity Evaluation (TIDE) process recognised our deep commitment to our values, people, EDI and wellbeing, as well as successful initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture, and incredible collaboration across the organisation.
