Supporting the Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) integrated care system with expertise in sustainability, project management and design work to deliver their Green Plan towards net zero.
Objective
As part of the NHS’s commitment to becoming the world’s first net zero health service in the world by 2045, BSW asked us to support them to create a Green Plan – a three-year strategy for the integrated care system to tackle the climate health emergency.

What we did
To inform the development of the Green Plan, we conducted a desktop analysis of similar green plans both within and outside of BSW to identify best-in-class examples and generate a set of requirements. We also consulted primary care leads in Medicines Optimisation, Digital and Estates, and facilitated workshops with sustainability leads and partners across BSW.
We compiled all analysis and learnings into a three-year approach to delivering sustainability across the priorities set out in the NHS’s plan to become a net zero health service.
The Green Plan included considerations on estates, travel and transport, resource use, workforce and future care models. It aligned with other green plans developed across the ICS, with common and collaborative actions and timelines across partner organisations.
Our graphics team produced a professional, web-based document with a fresh aesthetic using BSW Together branding throughout.
