SCW at ConfedExpo 2022

We led several participative sessions at this year’s NHS ConfedExpo where we shared our learning on some current topics and challenges in the health and care sector. One of which was ‘The Power of Prehab: Improving Cancer Patient Outcomes’, exploring how the Greater Manchester Prehab4Cancer programme supports patients with certain cancers to become more activated and involved in their care leading to positive impacts.

Plus, how our approach to evaluation established the impact Prehab4Cancer had on patient outcomes as well as on pathway and service efficiencies.

Speakers included:

  • Sarah Warren, Associate Director - Care Navigation, NHS SCW
  • Laura Tully, Deputy Director - Clinical Quality Support Services, NHS SCW

A few key points from our interactive session:

In colorectal alone, we got to a point where for every 1,000 patients that went through the pathway, 179 more patients were able to be seen because of the capacity that was released - Sarah Warren, Associate Director - Care Navigation, NHS SCW

If you get time, do watch the full session video.
