Delivery of a live daily sitrep report identifying real-time pressures
Objective
Analytical support was needed for the Somerset Winter Room Programme to help inform decision-making in the ICS to build resilience to winter pressures.
What we did
We developed reporting dashboards that could be easily viewed on TV screens in the Winter Room and that can be shared across the ICS. The outputs are a combination of time series and other visualisations to clearly show the trends in urgent care demand and the continuing impact on elective care. One report shows live A&E data from a local provider and will be developed further to predict future demands and early warning systems. Development will continue until March 2023.

Somerset has been able to easily access a refreshed sitrep report every day to report to the ICS board, which gives a clear indication of the current pressures faced by the system. The live A&E feed is used as a tool in the Winter Room to give an overview of where the pressures are in real time and will give predicted trends once more data becomes available.
